Sit in a comfortable position. Get yourself ready by equalizing the breath. Once the equilibrium sets in, you are ready.

With right hand over left [in lap], and palms up, inhale deeply, and exhale. On the third or fifth inhalation, allow the hands to move apart from each other.

They will automatically lift from the lap and spread out, continually moving in motion with the breath, touching the level of the navel, the solar plexus, and the heart.

When the lungs are full, the hands will be at the level of the collar bones, and then passing the throat and face, spread your hands up and out, reaching upwards to the sun. Stop a moment here and say, “Om shanti.”

Now the descent: exhale slowly and gently. Bring the hands back into first position, but make sure you are aware of the [previous] levels the hands connect with. Rest a minute or two, and start again. Do five times each morning.
