Sthana Suddhi (purification of place): By performing this purification one obtains virtue and becomes devout. Sacred places are the forest, temple, riverbank (naditata) or a sacred place of pilgrimage (tirtha). At home keep your area of worship clean. Daily cleansing with water is essential, and offering of fresh flowers and incense.

Dik Suddhi (purification of quarters): By performing this purification one obtains sakti (power). In the performance of worship and sadhana, sit or stand facing East during the day and North during the night.

Bahya Suddhi (external purification of body): By performing this purification one obtains kindness and self-rejoicing. In order to practice and embody sadhana, one must begin with bathing which aids in the health and vitality of the body.

Antah Suddhi (internal purification of body): By performing this purification one obtains samadhi (unitive awareness). From a deep desire to obtain Self Knowledge, confidence and respect is applied to the teachings and method.

TapasYajnaJnana (austerity, sacrifice, knowledge): When ardently performed, all the negative qualities that produce pain to oneself and others are replaced by positive qualities. Then one experiences wealth beyond words.
