For it is through the understanding
and the power of speech,
that we put value:
good/bad, right/wrong, etc.,
into life.
But life is nothing but an expression
of the unmanifest.
Seek this truth. From Think On This

We are formed with language — words (vac). Character is created through language, through what we say. And through what we say, we act it out. We must, with respect for each other, say our speech to bring each other up; to continue this life so we all may be in harmony with each other within the human context. And we have to make this world through our speech, through our speaking. So change your manner of speech thoughtfully. As you think, so you will do. But before you do, you will speak. And in the speaking there are many forms of artistic sayings.
Realize the significance and the power of words. Words are very, very powerful. Words are sacred. Each word is a mantra (instrument of thought, sacred speech). Each word has purity, vibration, sensation, sound; each word makes a body. Words are sacred, words are very powerful. When someone says something nice to you, you feel good. The body releases some tension inside and gives itself over to a state of equilibrium. But the minute something negative is said, the body roars, it tears itself apart, it rips you inside. This is the power of words.
Words make the body, words make the world. They are makers of place and circumstance. Words are powerful, words are sacred. The most sacred of all words is the word Om. Through that sound, through that word, all things become one—all things, everything. That is a sacred, auspicious word.
Every letter you pronounce; every syllable, every consonant— you breathe it out, you hold it in your mouth and it is filled with air, carried through pranic (vital breath) force — then you speak. Worlds are born. Language is not just language. It is not just to pass the time. Or to show someone how eloquent we are in speech. Language creates your life and every life around you. Bear this in mind; and respect.
When one is listening, then the speaking is done very quickly and the listener hears. The listener gets a blessing for allowing someone to enter into existence and the speaker gives the listener the opportunity to hear of a world unknown to them. Silence is to make you understand and appreciate the power of speech.
How can you change the samskaras (tendency of past actions) from the past? We try and try and we try and it doesn’t get changed. It keeps coming back like a ball. You hit it and it comes back again. And you repeat the samskaras again and again. How can you change that? How can you change samskaras? How can you change the impressions in our lives? How can we change them? We can change them through the power of vac (speech), through the power of speech. But before the power of speech can be known to yourself and to those around you, you must begin inside of you; in your heart, in your desire. Then speech becomes a very powerful tool.
