Gurani Anjali encouraged and directed the creation of both Vajra Printing and Publishing and Moksha Journal. She strongly supported the study, realization and transmission of sacred knowledge. Both her students and notable scholars submitted articles, poems and reviews for inclusion in the biannual journal.
She continually encouraged her students and others to express their knowledge in writings and publications for the benefit of “those yet to come.” It didn’t matter how profound the knowledge was or at what “level” of consciousness a person was. She believed that, if shared with sincerity and humility, there was always someone coming up that could benefit and to leave foot steps for them to follow; just as the great sages did for us.
Gurani Anjali also encouraged her students to study the Indic philosophical texts as much as possible in their original Sanskrit. A scholarly system of diacritical marks were employed to maintain, as authentically as possible, the transliteration from Sanskrit to modern English lettering. Unfortunately, these hand-drawn diacritical marks were lost on many of the documents presented here due to the scanning processes required to duplicate them. Your understanding and pardon is appreciated.
The following are lines from several of Gurani Anjali’s songs expressing her respect for those of the past who pointed the way, and encouraging others to do the same:
Sing their praises, never end Glorify their names in print
Gurani Anjali, Song: “Four Corners of the World”
As I walk, in the Yoga path I think of those who paved the way They sought after truth, and rent the veil The veil that is called maya
Gurani Anjali, Song: “Yoga Path”
I think of those lives, who paved the way. Their tears, their patience, their misery. And in humbleness, I’ll say Namaste. They paved the way for me
Gurani Anjali, Song: “Yoga Path”
Go to the wise and mighty sage. Read those golden pages. What would my life be without these men of bygone years?
Gurani Anjali, Song: “I’ll Remember”
Great were my teachers – Though some caused me pain I needed them, they showed me the way.
Gurani Anjali, Song: “In The Growing”
